I’ve been offline for a few days and wanted to update you on the progress of my Change.org petition seeking to keep 540 Meals, McDonald’s so-called “nutrition education” documentary, out of schools.
Since 540 Meals was covered on the Today show last week, over 17,000 more people have signed — for a current total of over 72,000 names!
The petition campaign has since been covered by various additional news outlets, including Eater, Grist, Attn: and Forbes. And here’s more exciting news: today I’m getting on a plane to tape a daytime talk show segment regarding 540 Meals and the petition. As soon as the show is taped I’ll share all the details with you, including the expected air date.
So far there’s been no response from McDonald’s regarding the petition, but I remain hopeful that the growing signature count and continued media coverage will encourage the company to reverse course and stop pushing this heavily branded and potentially misleading film into schools.
Thanks for your continued support!

You are amazing, Bettina! Bravo for all of your incredible work in not only exposing this story, but for putting the pressure on McDonald’s to STOP what it’s doing in schools. Good luck on the talk show–I’m sure you’ll be fantastic as usual!
