I’m a former lawyer, a freelance writer and a mom of two children. (You can find out more about me here.)
I started The Lunch Tray back in May, 2010, shortly after I became involved in school food reform in Houston ISD. The blog has since become a trusted resource for news and commentary relating to children and food policy, as well as discussions about the challenge of feeding kids well in today’s food culture. I also like to shake things up a bit with cookbook reviews, guest blog posts, recipes, help with family dinner, lunchbox ideas and more. (Be sure to check out my Resources pages for some of my favorite blogs and books on these topics.)
The Lunch Tray’s readership includes parents, school food professionals and leading food policy thinkers. We don’t always agree with each other, but I strive to keep this a pleasant and respectful space in which to share all kinds of views. So don’t be afraid to jump in with a comment and feel free to contact me for any reason.
Thanks for coming by, and I hope you’ll become part of the Lunch Tray community!
