Happy Monday, TLTers, and welcome to the all-new — and, I think it may fairly be said, gorgeous — Lunch Tray!
For the last two months I’ve been working with the talented Blog Genie (aka Rita Barry) to redesign my blog. Given how much time I spend in this virtual space every day, I can’t tell you how happy I am with the results. Or, to put it in real estate terms we can all relate to:
This was my run-down rental apartment right out of college (May-June, 2010) . . .
This was my starter home – a step up, but still nothing special (June 2010-January 2015) . . .
And now, at long last, my blogging dream house! 🙂
But the changes around here are more than just aesthetic. We’ve been working hard to provide you with a better TLT reader experience, including better navigation, a more powerful search bar function to help you find older posts and, most of all, improved resources on the topics that interest you. To find those, please take a look at my brand new Resources page with its handy “Quick Links” feature. Here you’ll find a curated list of my absolute favorite books, blogs and websites on everything from lunchbox packing to general food policy:
The other big news is that I’ve written a 40-page (!) ebook devoted to TLT readers’ number one complaint: the unwelcome influx of junk food in their children’s classrooms. The Lunch Tray’s Guide to Getting Junk Food Out of Your Child’s Classroom is totally free and available for download when you sign up to receive my new email newsletter. I’ve drawn on my own advocacy experiences in creating the book and I really hope it’s useful to you. Tomorrow I’ll give you a guided tour of the ebook but it’s available for download at any time using this link or by entering your email over to the right hand side of the screen.
And speaking of that Lunch Tray newsletter . . . I promise I won’t ever spam you or share your email with third parties. What you’ll receive is a regular update from me with a list of prior posts (so I don’t need to rely on the annoyingly unreliable Facebook to share them with you) as well as additional features like kid-approved recipes, news tidbits, fun or useful products I’ve come across and more. And, of course, you can unsubscribe at any time.
I hope you like the new and improved TLT as much as I do! If you have feedback or encounter any glitches, please let me know in a comment below. Meanwhile, I’m just going to sit here a while longer and breathe in the scent of fresh paint and carpeting — or whatever shiny new pixels smell like. 🙂
