FTC Issues Subpoenas to 48 Food Companies Marketing to Kids

Forty-eight companies that market food to children and teens have been subpoenaed by the FTC, including such well known companies as Yum Brands (KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut), Chuck E. Cheese, and IHOP.

The subpoenas are apparently part of an effort by the FTC to monitor the industry’s self-regulation in this area as it begins to prepare a report on food marketing to children.  The findings will be made available to the public.
