According to the the Wall Street Journal, Dylan’s Candy Bar (a trendy Manhattan candy store with several locations around the country) planned to open a day camp in New York this month for 3- to 5 year-old children. The program, which was to include yoga, music, cooking and dress-up, would also have had candy “incorporated into every aspect of the camp.”
The only glitch? Not a single New York parent signed up their child.
The Journal asks if the failure of Candy Camp might reflect growing health-consciousness among parents. But I can’t help thinking it might have had more to do with the $450 per week price tag. . . .
