On tap for today’s Friday Buffet, a bevy of blogs for your surfing pleasure:
Two All-Things-Food Sites
I’ve recently discovered two great food blogs which aren’t kid-and-food specific (though they often cover those issues) but are just plain fun for foodies of all stripes.
The first is Eatocracy, a new food blog launched this spring by the news network CNN. Here’s their own description of what they do: “Eatocracy is your online home for smart, passionate conversation and information about food news, politics, culture. We’ll highlight regional and family recipes, dive into restaurants and food shopping, chat with celebrity and local chefs, and show you what’s for dinner around the world tonight.” So far I’ve really enjoyed my visits there.
The second is Serious Eats, which blends the contributions of many food bloggers along with food videos, recipes, and more. There are daily updates of food news and commentary, eating advice from readers all over the world, and a lively community forum.
A Lunch Box Inventor Talks About Lunch
A few weeks ago I posted about one of the cool bento-style lunchbox systems on the market, the EasyLunchbox System. Well, just to show you how unbiased The Lunch Tray is, that post was written long before I ever “met” (via email) the product’s founder, mom, singer and entrepreneur Kelly Lester. It was only later that I found out that Kelly also writes her own blog, It’s Not Just Lunch, which is chock-full of great kid-and-food tips and recipes, commentary and links to other great sites as well.
Two Reader-Recommended Kid-and-Food Blogs
I love it when readers send me their favorite web sites, kid-and-food related news, tips on new products out there, etc. Here are two blogs that were recommended this week:
Meal Makeover Moms is run by two registered dieticians — and moms — who provide parents and caregivers with “a virtual smorgasbord of helpful tools including recipes, cooking & mealtime tips videos, a bi-monthly newsletter, a blog, and the weekly radio podcast, Cooking with the Moms.” (Thank you, Cheryl S. for the tip.)
And finally, my new friend Laurie B., a registered nurse and mom, raves about Daily Spark, a blog that offers “fresh doses of fitness, nutrition and health news every day,” including health tips, product reviews, expert answers on the latest health trends and more. [Ed. update: Oops. Laurie corrected me: use this related link to view the site she loves.]
Happy surfing, have a great weekend, and see you back at The Lunch Tray next week . . . .

Thanks for the mention Bettina! Liz and I just finished the manuscript for our second cookbook today so I hope to have more time for checking out the blogs you mention here. Love your blog!

Thanks for the shout out! The website I am so excited about is actually http://www.sparkpeople.com. It is a free service for meal plans, nutrition information and all things healthy.
It has really ignited a *spark* in me. Truly a great way to really understand what and how much you take in and how much you burn.
All with great, inspirational members and stories.
